★ Voted Best Dog Trainer in Kansas City2026 iFamilyKC Readers’ FavoriteNoble Dog Training is now Marquis Dog Training. Same team, same training.

Toby is a Bernedoodle in Overland Park who met the door with intense stranger reactivity and sustained barking, defensive enough in his first session to make gum contact with the trainer. Across 4 sessions between 28 May and 2 July 2026, every one improving, Marquis Dog Training read the root as a control and confidence problem rather than aggression, and let him approach unfamiliar people on his own terms instead of forcing contact. By the end of session one he was calm and pettable. By session four he settled into a down on place with two unfamiliar people in the room, and his tail relaxed out of a stiff high hold.

Toby went from highly reactive and defensive (gum contact on trainer) at session start to calm, pettable, and holding a sit/down with minimal resistance by session end. Demonstrated first leash-pressure compliance and first “down” response within a single consultation session.

Toby worked through his frustration cycles without Benny forcing the issue and settled into a calm down on place while two new people (Promise, the new trainer, and family) were in the room. His tail relaxed from a stiff, high half-mast to a full ‘helicopter’ wag, and he barked only briefly instead of fully reacting when someone came up the stairs.
