Can I train a rescue puppy with unknown background?

Absolutely. Rescue puppies often benefit tremendously from structured training and safe, controlled socialization. We specialize in building confidence in dogs that come from uncertain backgrounds. Early intervention (before fear-based behaviors develop) is key. Timeline may be slightly longer, but results are equally strong.

What if my puppy has bite/aggression issues?

Puppy biting is normal. Unaddressed biting becomes a serious problem. We address bite inhibition and aggression prevention in all our programs. However, severe aggression (unprovoked lunging, drawn-out attacks) may require veterinary behaviorist involvement. We coordinate with vets when needed and can refer you to specialists.

Can I train my puppy while working full-time?

Yes. Options include:

  • Small-group classes (flexible scheduling options)
  • Board & Train (perfect for working families)
  • Evening/weekend in-home sessions (we offer flexible scheduling)

We work around YOUR schedule.

Do you guarantee results?

We guarantee our methods and our expertise. We don’t guarantee your puppy’s behavior if you don’t follow the protocol – that’s between you and your puppy. What we do guarantee: if you follow our training plan consistently, you’ll see significant improvement. If you’re not seeing progress, we troubleshoot and adjust.

What if my puppy is extremely anxious?

Anxiety is addressable, especially in puppies. We use gradual desensitization, confidence-building, and sometimes coordinate with veterinary behaviorists. Puppies treated early for anxiety have excellent outcomes. The longer anxiety goes unaddressed, the more entrenched it becomes—so early intervention is critical.

Can I train my puppy myself without professional help?

You can try, but most first-time owners make subtle timing, consistency, or technique errors that slow progress or create unwanted results. A few professional sessions often prevent months of confusion. Plus, having someone to troubleshoot with is invaluable.

What happens after the program ends?

We provide follow-up support including weekly email check-ins for 4 weeks, access to our online resource library, video feedback on your training, and discounted refresher sessions. Optional programs like AKC Canine Good Citizen prep and adolescent coaching are available.

Do you use e-collars or aversive methods?

No. Our methods are based on positive reinforcement, clear communication, and building trust. We’ve seen the damage that punishment-based training does, especially to developing puppies. All our methods are science-based, relationship-centered, and build genuine confidence.

What if I’m a first-time dog owner?

You’re in the perfect position to train a puppy the right way from the start. We’ll teach you everything you need to know about puppy development, training technique, and what to expect at each stage. Many first-time owners are our most successful clients because they don’t have to unlearn bad habits.

How long does anxiety recovery take?
  • Mild anxiety: 4-6 weeks of visible improvement
  • Moderate anxiety: 6-10 weeks for solid progress
  • Severe anxiety/aggression: 8-12+ weeks (ongoing management)

Most dogs show noticeable improvement by week 2-4. Solid transformation typically takes 6-12 weeks of consistent practice. Some dogs need ongoing management indefinitely, but improvement continues over many months.
