Noble Dog Training is now Marquis Dog Training. New name, same team, same training.

Roxie is a spirited pup from Overland Park who has been grappling with significant reactivity towards other dogs. Her family has been seeking ways to help her feel more at ease during walks, as her barking and lunging made outings stressful for everyone involved.

During our session, we focused on creating positive associations with other dogs encountered on our walk. By using treats and rewarding calm behavior, we were able to shift Roxie’s attention away from her usual reactions. We started with controlled encounters, allowing her to observe other dogs from a distance before gradually decreasing that space as she remained calm.

The highlight of our time together was when Roxie displayed noticeable improvement. At one point, we passed a group of dogs, and rather than her typical outburst, she simply glanced at them and looked back at us for guidance. This was a significant change for her and a proud moment for her family, who had been yearning for this kind of progress.

Looking ahead, we’ll continue to build on this foundation. Our next sessions will involve more challenging situations to further reinforce her training and help her become even more comfortable in various environments around Overland Park.
